  • Green tea and black tea both come from the same plant, Camellia sinensis
  • The difference between green tea and black tea is the processing; green tea leaves are unfermented, which means that they contain more of the antioxidants that occur naturally in tea.
  • The polyphenols in green tea are able to scavenge free radicals.  Some scientists speculate that this is the reason for some of the health benefits of green tea.
