How to make a glass of lemonade

“If life gives you lemons, make lemonade”.

While this quote, attributed to Dale Carnegie, is referring to dealing with problems in your life, it is true that if you have even one lemon, you can make lemonade to drink.

One half of a lemon mixed with just a few ingredients and served ice cold equals one refreshing beverage for relief from the heat. It’s a simple task to make an individual serving of this pick-me-up drink.

Lemonade can also be served hot and sweetened with honey in the case of a sore throat

Instructions
Step 1

Wash the lemon and cut it in half.  Wrap 1/2 in plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator.  Cut a paper thin slice from the exposed end of the remaining lemon half.

Step 2

Squeeze the juice from the lemon half.  Remove any seeds.  Optional: Save the lemon pulp.

Step 3

Pour the water into a large glass.  Add the sugar and stir to dissolve.  Add the lemon juice.  Add the pulp, if desired.  Taste and add sugar, if needed.

Step 4

Add lots of ice cubes to chill the lemonade.  Place the lemon slice on the rim or let it float on top of the lemonade.
